A defining characteristic of the façade is its dynamic, twisting geometry. The towers’ elliptical footprints rotate 90° as they rise, morphing the form, gently shifting the viewing axis outward, and unlocking panoramic views of the city and waterfront.
The twist is not purely aesthetic: it emerged from environmental studies to limit solar exposure and optimize shading. Projecting wraparound profiles shield the glazing from intense sun while preserving daylight and views, cutting solar heat gains by 70%.
High-performance glazing and advanced automation, alongside other active systems, reduce site energy demand by 35% versus baseline.
Together, these strategies deliver comfort, clarity, and a distinctive profile.
Lusail Stadium’s facade is designed as a burnished golden vessel, inspired by traditional Islamic bowls and lanterns.
Stadium 974’s facade is made from 974 recycled shipping containers and modular steel, forming a colorful, demountable exterior.
